Proving Myself

Well, sort of. Actually, I'm just trying to understand what I'm doing, but I figure while I'm at it I might as well post a bit of actual crochet work.

It begins...

A friend of mine is expecting and was posting all of her cute nursery-in-progress pictures on facebook. She's one of those rare people who actually do the projects you see on Pinterest. She's having a boy, so the greens and blues are almost compulsory. What caught my eye was the way she was mixing them. I used that as inspiration for this blankie, which will hopefully end up at her house with her (sure to be) cute little one.

It's just a basic granny made with two strands of Bernat Baby. Began with green and blue, dropped the green and picked up yellow, dropped the blue and picked up green. Four rows of each set twice. The border made me quite happy, mainly because it actually came out the way I'd hoped.
It's simply:
Blue: one row sc, one row dc, one row sc
Yellow: one row sc, one row (3hdc puff, hdc), one row sc
Green: one row sc, one row dc, one row sc

Here it is complete, decorating my dad's hood quite nicely.

Please be patient with me as I try to figure out all of this "blogging" stuff. I'm sure I'll be quite rubbish at it, but if it keeps my ideas and patterns in one spot I'll be happy. This is exactly the kind of thing I'd be sure to forget how I accomplished it. "Did I do doubles then singles or did I use half doubles? Was the puff row 'puff, single' or 'puff, chain one' or what?" Now, I can simply click on this page and look it up. Unless I really screw up somehow.
